Hi I got a haircut on the upper east side location and was the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. I am usually not someone to complain a have pretty straight forward hair to mess up. Not only is my hair stringy but the angles are not even at all. My hair does not flow and I am embarrassed to wear my hair down

Came in from out of town and was able to make an appointment right away. Lulu did AMAZING with my hair!!! I got blonde highlights with a trim and styled and my hair has truly never looked better! I loved my experience here and would recommend it to anyone, hopefully I’m in town again soon and can come back!

I have been needing a new look, but nothing drastic, and was desperate for a local, affordable salon. Found it! Cherry was great. She really listened to me about my lifestyle and what I was hoping to achieve; she did not try to sell me on products or dying my hair (I'm grey). She gave me a beautiful cut and blow dry, and made suggestions on how I could achieve the look at home. I would definitely recommend Cherry.

Check in process was chaotic and unprofessional. I arrived 5 minutes late to my appointment that I booked online. The woman behind the desk had no appointment for me so I had to hand my phone over and show her my confirmation email. She eventually said she’d fit me in even though I was late. She could use some work on her customer facing verbiage. The women who did my hair was lovely and did a good job. Wouldn’t come back though based on the front desk experience.

My stylist of choice at Dramatics is Virgo! Never in my life have I gotten more compliments on my haircuts. Someone once stopped me a few blocks out of the salon and asked me if I was Emma Stone! Her hair cuts make me feel like a celebrity. Years later, people will tell me they cut their hair short because a haircut Virgo gave me inspired them. I am so grateful to have found such a talented stylist I can trust.

I'd accidentally booked an appointment for the wrong day, then immediately reached out to clarify what happened and to reschedule, but I never heard back from them. Instead, I was then charged a $25 no-show fee. When I called back to ask to have the charge removed, explaining I reached out the first time and had tried to shift the appointment, the woman on the phone was unnecessarily curt and rude, then saying they're definitely not going to remove the fee, that she's not going to bother her manager with this, and there was also no attempt to articulate why this was the policy. It was an honest mistake I was trying to fix, and instead of being met with any graciousness or understanding, there was just dismissiveness and judgement. It was really disheartening because the stylists have been wonderful, but I won't be coming back here if this is how rudely they treat people who are trying their best to work something out.

Virgo is a pro! I came in with a mop of way-darker-than-I-intended, dull hair that I had dyed at home weeks ago, (and bright grey roots sprouting like mad) and left with a lovely, shiny shade of brown with subtle variations of gold — exactly what I wanted. Reasonable prices, too!

I have wavy gray hair and since retiring a few years ago, I hadn't cut it for 6 months so it was half way down my neck. It started to look scraggly but my wife insisted I let it grow. At the risk of upsetting my wife, I went to Dramatics anyway and they told me Diamond would be able to handle it. I am so happy with what she did for me. It looks much neater now but not a lot shorter. My compliments to Diamond! -Michael

My hair couldn’t be without her expertise and great sense of color and cut! Having worked with her for a number of years, she knows me very well! Amber is the best. She does an incredible job whether it’s color or cut Am always happy when I leave and always recommend her to people. The salon is another story The chairs at the sink are not only outdated and uncomfortable but they’re falling apart. The seating area is not great. It was better before the renovation was done Having all the product displayed where seating should be is unappealing 5 STARS FOR AMBER!!!

I had years and years of very damaged box dyed brunette hair and told Diamond I wanted to go blonde. She was so sage, precise, accommodating in her suggestions, technique and results. It has been two years now and my hair glistens, my wallet has not been depleted, I leave the salon satisfied and post a dozen selfies because of her. On top of her professionalism and knowledge, she is the most delightful gal to spend a day with while your hair is processing. Diamond, I adore you and will see you this weekend xoxoxoxooo

I have been going to Dramatics NYC for many, many years. I go in as a walk-in and have had wonderful results from the Stylists that have been assigned to cut my hair. Everyone one at the 91st Street and Broadway are excellent and since I get anyone available I have had my haircut by many but I always walk away with a smile.

Luna always gets it right even when I want to change things up now and then. She listens to exactly what I want and gives expert suggestions and styling tips. Please add a "cancel appointment" feature to your website. I received a call late last night of a friends passing. I have to attend a wake today, and I'm unable to keep my appointment. I called last night to leave a message but unable to leave a voice message or cancel on website (not good). Now, on this hectic day, it appears my choices are to call when you are open (after 11) or not call at all which I feel is very unfair to your stylists.

After years of going to same hairstylist who wouldn't even try to dye or highlight my hair whatever color I wanted, I finally decided to seek elsewhere. I came across Dramatics, thanks to someone who referred me to see LUNA. On my first visit, I showed her a picture of what I would like my hair to look like. She explained to me that what I wanted would require about 2 treatments, and she explained why she needs to break it down in order for my hair to not get damaged. The damaging of my hair was my biggest concern, so I loved that she took the time to explain what needed to be done. My first treatment, I didn't see a drastic change in color; but my second treatment? All I was able to say was OMG! She actually gave me the color I was looking for, and I am BEYOND happy! I've gotten a dozen compliments on my new color, and I would recommend LUNA to anyone who asks for a hairstylist/colorist. Loved the service that was provided to me, and will definitely be seeing her in the future! -Ani D.

I HAVE BEEN A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER OF DRAMATICS FOR MANY YEARS. MY HAIR STYLIST IS ZONE (ANNA) AND I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED!!! ZONE IS A PERFECTIONIST WHO PAYS ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL. SHE TRULY PUTS HER HEART AND SOUL INTO EVERYTHING SHE DOES FROM START TO FINISH!!!! IT IS WORTH THE TRIP INTO MANHATTAN. Cherry has been cutting my hair for years and always does an excellent job. She has a good eye for natural color too. So if you are thinking about coloring your hair, she's the one you want. Besides that, she has a lovely personality. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

As always, Traffic does a remarkable job! Today, I needed highlights as is my ongoing hair care. I just came out of surgery, and was feeling good but not my best. His thoughtfulness and genuine concern was such a gift, and just what I needed, as well as his tremendous skill at what he does. After many kind words from him, and a very patient listening ear, I was on my way to getting a beautiful head of highlights. He carefully took excellent care of my hair needs and I knew that once again, I would be very happy with the end results. He is incredibly skilled, but truly, today, his kindness and high regard for my situation, was deeply regarded and oh so appreciated. Thank you Traffic for the wonderful person you are! I LOVE my highlights and feel so much better!!! :)))) I have been going to this salon for over 20 years! Also, I would like to add that Vanity assisted in my treatment today, removing foils, washing my hair, checking on me, and was also so so lovely! Very polite and professional, with a quality of honesty and beauty, that will make her a great stylist. I believe she could be successful at anything she sets her mind to do. Thank you Vanity!!! The qualities that they both imparted is what makes a good salon, a great, great salon; one that makes people return time after time, year after year.

Havana has been cutting my hair for years and she is terrific. When it comes to my hair, I am not very adventurous and had never colored my hair, but was starting to go grey. I was very nervous about coloring my hair, but Havana persuaded me that a single-process "gloss" would look very natural and I took the plunge. She was right! Havana was able to match my own hair color (medium brown) so well that no one can tell that I color my hair and when it grows out, it looks very natural (with no "stripe"). Plus the gloss gives my hair a wonderful shine. Havana's other clients are not necessarily like me -- they are more adventurous! The point is, Havana really listens to what you want and then delivers. I would highly recommend her.

Walked in on a Saturday morning, without an appointment-hoping for a trim and maybe a consultation. Not only was I taken immediately, but got low lights, cut and blow dry ! Dell spent over an hour with me and I left feeling 10 years younger (grey be gone!) and a great cut. Service was terrific , my Stylist Dell got it right on our first meeting. I will definitely go back!
